The Permanent secretary, FMARD has officially launched the In Service Applied Veterinary Epidemiology Training Program (ISAVET) in Nigeria.
ISAVET is an initiative of the FAO-ECTAD office in Nigeria which will be coordinated through the Department of Veterinary and Pest control services of the Federal Ministry of Agriculture and rural Development. The ISAVET training is aimed at equipping Veterinarians, Para-veterinarians and Community animal health workers in Federal and States Services with skills and competencies needed for managing emergencies in Animal health.

The FAO Rep in Nigeria along with the Permanent Secretary of FMARD launched the training program. ISAVET is a fellowship awarding program similar to the Nigeria Field Epidemiology Training Program (NFELTP). So far Cohort one fellows have been selected and lectures will commence soon
