News Jun25 Assessment Mission to familiarize, interact and establish contacts between stakeholders and experts in Food Safety and Animal Health in both United States and Nigeria. The Chief Veterinary Officer of Nigeria, Dr Maimuna Habib has honored an invitation to an information sharing meeting by the Executive Director, Food and Agriculture Export Alliance (FAEA) and the Sanitary and Phytosanitary (SPS) Advisor of the United State Department of Agriculture/Foreign Agricultural Services (USAD/FAS) on Friday 24th June, 2022 at the Transcorp Hilton Hotel, Abuja. The meeting was an Assessment Mission that seeks to familiarize, interact and establish contacts between stakeholders and experts in Food Safety and Animal Health in both United States and Nigeria. Part of the activities of FAEA and USAD/FAS and their partners has been the provision of support to countries in developing their SPS framework. On that note, they encouraged the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development to present its shopping list for priority intervention needs in the area of food safety of both plant and animal origin.
